Child Representation
In New York State, children are entitled to representation in various types of court cases. Under New York State Law, this is called an Attorney for the Child, often abbreviated as AFC.
Family and County Supreme Courts have the authority to appoint your child an attorney, who specializes in representing children. This gives your child a voice in a proceeding that may impact them, like a divorce.
